Hot Rod Monsters
Fast times and innovative minds created a Kustom Kulture of hot rods and monsters. Rat Fink was one of the many monsters Ed “Big Daddy” Roth drew, this monster became synonymous with the Kulture, he was on cars, T-shirts, and toy models. Rat Fink represented a time of rebellion, individuality, and creativity. Visit us to see custom models of Rat Fink and learn more about the Kulture, Ed “Big Daddy” Roth and Stanley Mouse.
Noon Year's Eve
Bring your family and ring in 2025 at the Sacramento History Museum, Tuesday, Dec. 31. Our Noon Year’s Eve celebration is FREE with admission. Join us 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for craft stations with the Sacramento Children’s Museum, face painting and Story Time at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Don’t miss the countdown to “NOON” as we ring in the new year early with a spectacular Balloon Drop!

America’s Monsters, Superheroes, and Villains: Our Culture at Play
The Sacramento History Museum is proud to present , America’s Monsters, Superheroes and Villains: Our Culture at Play, a multi-generational display of toys, comics, posters, and videos of the 60s – 90s. Runs through January 5th!
Holiday Cheer
Sacramento Living History holds their Annual Holiday Cheer festivities! This free, family-friendly event will teach you all about winter holidays in the mid-1800’s with era crafts and games, hot cocoa and mulled cider, a venue to take family photos, and caroling!
Join us for Holiday Cheer and have a spirited good time! You’ll find us in the Hastings Annex located at 1002 2nd Street, Saturdays through December 21 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Mómtim Péwinan, River People
Mómtim Péwinan, River People, has been curated by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Exhibits & Collections Center. It features items specifically made for this exhibit including mannequins dressed in seasonal attire – plus regalia, tools, and more, created by today’s tribal artisans using techniques of their ancestors.
