You CAN Do It Days!

Fun for the whole family!

This Labor Day weekend, the Sacramento History Museum invites you to join us for the final days of our canning exhibit, “Sacramento in a Can”.

Experience the interesting history of our community’s agriculture and how the canning industry formed our city.

Discover how canneries developed and grew into one of the world’s largest suppliers.

Read about the people and watch the videos to experience a special time in our city’s history.

During the event, pick up a passport and explore all the activities. Take selfies with Sacratomato and other canned vegetable characters. Design your own can label for your favorite food, then plant a veggie for your home garden. You can even make a fun, felt, tomato keychain to remember the fruit that gave Sacramento it’s nick name.

It all happens Labor Day Weekend, August 30, 31 and September 1, 2025 between 10am-2pm, at the Sacramento History Museum, 101 I Street Sacramento, CA 95814

This event is included with your museum admission, $12 adults and $6 youths. Members of the Sacramento History Museum are free.

Several additional discounts may be applicable, ask when making your purchase.
