Join us on November 11, 2024 for Heroic Havoc: A Superhero Sketch Fest!

Free with Admission from 11am – 3pm

 

Join us for an exciting day of fun with some of Northern California’s comic creators, illustrators, and writers. Monday, November 11th the museum will transform into a Sketch Fest, woven into the exhibit, “America’s Monsters, Superheroes and Villains: Our Culture at Play” exhibit. Vendors and participants will have their creative works on display and for sale.

The museum opens at 10am and the event begins at 11am. Be sure to arrive early, you don’t want to miss our first session, Character Drawing with Mario Estioko. More sessions throughout the day, presenters will also include Kyrun Silva, Melissa Pagluica, Nooligan, David Andry and Dan Bethel. Please view the schedule for more details.

 

 

Featured Presenters

 

Mario Estioko
A professor in the Sacramento State Graphic Design Program, Mario is a cartoonist and illustrator.

Kyrun Silva
Founder of Big Tree Comics and Creative Director of Taurus Comics founded in 2017 and based in Sacramento.

Melissa Pagluica
Melissa is a full time artist residing in Oakland, California. She has worked as a cover artist for publishers such as Boom! Studios and Vault Comics and as a freelance illustrator.

Nooligan
A visual artist, independent creator, and graphic designer based in Sacramento, his style is contemporary with a flare of nostalgia.

David Andry
David is a comic book writer from Sacramento, best known for Resonant from Vault Comics, which is currently in development for a TV show.

Dan Bethel
A professor of Composition and Rhetoric at Sacramento State, as well as a comicker and a podcaster, Dan has been writing and drawing comics for over 15 years.

 

All ages and skill levels are welcome to spend the day with us for drawing, storytelling, and fun!

The event is free with admission to the museum.

General admission $12, Youth (6-17) $6. Children 5 and under Free.
