on February 5, 2025!
The day will start at 10am and go until 4pm, with check in at 10:00.
The Sacramento History Museum will be offering a special Homeschool Day on February 5, 2025! The day will start at 10am and go until 4pm, with check in at 10:00.
The Museum will be open to homeschool groups to participate in some of our educational programs. We will have some scheduled programs that will be led by docents and some drop-in programs where docents can provide assistance. For the scheduled programs, you will have a chance to sign up for the time slots, each slot has a limit of 35 people (students and adults).
The cost is:
For Museum Members: $8 each for students and adults, under 5 free
For Non-Members: $12 each for students and adults, under 5 free
You can pre-registered to attend the event, or purchase day of the event.
Programs offered on the Homeschool Day:
Drop -in programs happening all day: Museum Scavenger Hunt, History Mystery, and Gold Rush.
Scheduled programs with timed presentations: Print Shop, Gold Panning and Heading West.
For the drop -in programs, docents will be around to help get you started and answer questions, but you can do these programs at your own pace.
For the scheduled programs, we will have set times for presentations throughout the day, there will be a sign-up sheet for each of the time slots that you will need to sign up for when you arrive, there is a 35 person (students and adults) limit for each of the time slots. Gold Panning does not need sign ups but will only be happening during select times.

In addition to the Homeschool Day, homeschool groups can book our other education field trips any time. We only ask for a minimum of 10 students to do any of our other educational programs.

To book your field trip, please download and complete our FIELD TRIP REQUEST FORM here. You can type directly into the Word Document.
