Black Soil, Our Roots Run Deep

Join us January 30 for our newest exhibition in partnership with the Sojourner Truth Foundation. Featuring the history of African Americans in farming, an art and history exhibition and the discoveries George Washington Carver had in science, the agricultural impact African Americans had on tobacco, cotton, rice, peanuts, and ice cream.

Homeschool Student Programs Day

On Wednesday, February 4th we will present some of our popular school programs for Homeschool Students from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including the Print Shop, Heading West, Museum Scavenger Hunt, Gold Rush, History Mystery, Nisenan, and Gold Panning. Tickets are $8 each for Sacramento History Museum members or $12 non-members. 5 years and younger are free.

Underground Tours

It’s a new year, a time for new adventures…and it’s time to bundle up and do a bit of time traveling… in the Underground. 

Go Underground seven days a week and learn how Sacramento lifted itself up out of the flood waters during the 1860s and 1870s! (Times are listed on the right) Your tour ticket includes museum admission! Tours run rain or shine.

 

RCAF in Mictlán

The Sacramento History Museum is excited to announce a partnership with community arts group, La Raza Galeria Posada (LRGP) for a special exhibit titled “RCAF in Mictlán: 50th Anniversary of Dia de los Muertos.” The specially curated and culturally significant exhibition will be on display in the R. Burnett and Mimi Glide Miller Gallery at the Museum through April 5, 2026.

Girl Scouts - Junior Badge

Attention Girl Scouts! Junior Badge- Playing the Past, Saturday, June 27, 2026

This event will include: A Gold Fever! interactive tour, Calligraphy lesson and a letter home activity, Historical dress up and Silhouette craft.

Cost is $15 per Girl Scout, Troop Leader Free, $6 per Adult. Tickets can be purchased on our website closer to the event.
