Chinese Pioneers

The exhibition will also focus on the Delta town of Locke, built by Chinese Americans for Chinese Americans. From the ashes of a fire in Walnut Grove, the Chinese started building anew in 1912. They persevered by reclaiming the flood lands for agriculture, creating a sanctuary and building a community in a time when they were discriminated against, and the laws were stacked against them.

The Chinese Pioneer exhibition runs through April 20, 2025.
