Old Sacramento Underground Tour

Get the low-down on Sacramento’s efforts to save the city from devastating floods in the 1850s and 1860s! Students will uncover evidence of the city’s successful attempts to raise its streets, including historic buildings, basements, and underground hollow sidewalks.

The Gold Fever! Tour

It’s the 1850s! Your miners (students) have earned a great deal of gold in the foothills. Today they’ve come to Sacramento City to resupply. Early Sacramento citizens in period dress will lead your class around Old Sac and tell you about everyday life, and where miners can purchase supplies. Students will use subtraction and addition to track their purchases.
