Soroptimist International of Sacramento

The Sacramento History Museum is pleased to announce it’s latest exhibit, Soroptimist International of Sacramento: 101 Years Supporting Women & Girls.

Since its founding in 1923, Soroptimist International of Sacramento has led a wide range of community service projects and initiatives, including scholarships and grants to support women and girls in their education and career development, and supporting local organizations that serve women and girls in need.  SIS also advocates for women and girls in the Sacramento community. They participate in campaigns to end gender-based violence, support initiatives to promote women’s leadership and representation in decision-making roles, and raise awareness about the importance of gender equality and women’s rights.

Building on its legacy, SIS continues to invest in the dreams of women and girls with its two signature Dream Programs: The Live your Dream Award provides financial assistance to women who are the primary wage earners for their families and are pursuing higher education or vocational training.
