Health & Safety

Due to health and safety concerns around the coronavirus COVID-19, the Sacramento History Museum has increased daily cleaning of exhibits and public spaces.

With guidance from the Sacramento County Health Department and the City of Sacramento, we want to share with you steps we are taking in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus in our community.

  • In addition to our regular morning cleaning of the Museum, we have increased our sanitizing practices throughout the day of public spaces including counters, door knobs, push handles, hand rails, and tour equipment.
  • Our hands-on activity areas in the Museum have been temporarily removed and we have closed the lid on our public gold panning.
  • We are also providing hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for our guests, staff and volunteers.
